Howard L. Lance is chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS). Harris, with annual revenue of $5 billion, is a leading global provider of communications and information technology products, software, systems, and services to government, defense, and commercial markets. Corporate headquarters are located in Melbourne, Florida, and the company's 15,000 employees serve customers in more than 150 countries. Mr. Lance was appointed president and chief executive officer in January 2003 and elected to the Board of Directors. He was elected chairman in June 2003.

Before joining Harris, Mr. Lance was president of NCR Corporation and chief operating officer of its Retail and Financial Group. Previously, he spent 17 years with Emerson Electric Co., where he held senior management positions including executive vice president of its Electronics and Telecommunications segment, chief executive officer and director of its Astec electronics subsidiary in Hong Kong, group vice president of its Climate Technologies segment, and president of its Copeland Refrigeration division.

Mr. Lance, age 54, was born in East Peoria, Illinois, and began his career at Caterpillar, Inc., in their engineering co-op program. He earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Bradley University, and a master of science degree in management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He received an honorary doctor of science degree from the University of Central Florida in 2009.

Mr. Lance was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. He is a director of Stryker Corporation (NYSE:SYK) and Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN); former chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Brevard County, Florida; and former chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Institute of Technology, and the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association.

In 2008, Mr. Lance received the Ernst & Young Florida Entrepreneur of the Year award in the "Master" category. This award recognizes entrepreneurs who are well established in their industry and careers who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

In 2006, Mr. Lance was recognized as "Best Chairman" by the American Business Awards, and FLORIDA TODAY named him "Citizen of the Year" for his work with area charities and universities in central Florida. He was also recognized by the American Electronics Association of Florida as its "Technology Executive of the Year" in 2005.

Mr. Lance and his wife, Christine, reside in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. They have two sons and one daughter and are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Satellite Beach, Florida.

Daniel R. Pearson is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Harris Corporation. In this role, Mr. Pearson has responsibility for the primary day-to-day business operations of the company. He oversees the company's government businesses, information technology, healthcare solutions, cyber solutions, Middle East operations, supply chain management and operations, and security.

Most recently, Mr. Pearson was group president of Harris Corporation's Government Communications Systems Division. Before that, he was group president of Harris Defense Communications and Electronics business unit. Prior to that, he was president of the company's Department of Defense Programs business unit. Before being named president of Network Support Division in 2000, he served as vice president and general manager of Strategic Management and Business Development for GCSD. He joined Harris in 1977.

Mr. Pearson holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

He is a member of the Air Force Association (AFA), the Aerospace Industries Association, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and the Security Affairs Support Association (SASA).

Gary L. McArthur is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Harris Corporation. His responsibilities include oversight of all internal and external financial reporting, Securities and Exchange Commission compliance, Sarbanes Oxley 302 and 404 compliance, financial planning, banking/investment banking relationships, financial controls, capital structure, accounting, audit, financial services, tax, and treasury. In addition, he is responsible for Information Services and Investor Relations and plays a key role in the development of the corporation's strategic growth plan and the evaluation, execution, and integration of mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. McArthur assumed the position of vice president and chief financial officer in March 2006. Previously, he served as vice president of finance and treasurer, vice president of corporate development, and director of corporate development. He joined Harris in 1997.

Before joining Harris, Mr. McArthur was chief financial officer of 3D/EYE, Inc. Previously he spent 13 years in various finance and accounting positions, including executive director–Mexico and director of mergers and acquisitions at Nextel Communications, Inc., as well as associate of corporate finance at Lehman Brothers, serving technology, telecommunications, media, and defense customers. He was also the vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Cellcom Corporation, and was a consultant on emerging business services and staff accountant at Deloitte & Touche.

He served on the boards of directors of Live TV and Terion Inc. (both Harris technology spin-outs) prior to their acquisitions by JetBlue and GE, respectively. At Terion, he was also the chairman of the audit committee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives International, and the CFO Executive Board.

Mr. McArthur has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Utah and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business. He is a certified public accountant.

Jeffrey S. Shuman is senior vice president of Human Resources and Corporate Relations. He is responsible for planning and implementing Harris Corporation's human resources and corporate relations strategy. He also directs the development of the company's work force, including talent acquisition, leadership development and training, public relations, government relations, employee relations, organization change and effectiveness, compensation, and benefits. These organizations serve the company through the design, development, and execution of services and solutions. In addition, he has oversight for Government Relations; Real Estate; Environmental, Health, and Safety; Public Relations; and Business Conduct.

Previously Mr. Shuman was vice president of Human Resources and Corporate Relations. Before joining Harris in August 2005, he had been vice president of Human Resources and Administration for Northrop Grumman's Information Technology business, and he had been senior vice president of Human Resources for Litton Information Systems Group when it was acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2001. Previously, he was vice president of Human Resources for AlliedSignal's technical service business, and prior to that had a 14-year career in Operations and Human Resources with Avon Products.

Mr. Shuman earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from The Citadel. Following graduation, he served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army. He has completed executive development programs in business and human resources at the University of Michigan, Harvard Business School, Center for Creative Leadership, University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School, and Cornell University. He also participated in a U.S. Executive Exchange Program with the People's Republic of China.

Mr. Shuman has served as chairman of the Greater Baltimore-Washington, DC, chapter of INROADS, a national organization that develops and places talented minority youth in business and industry, and he has supported the Private Sector Council in key initiatives with the Department of Education and the Department of Homeland Security. He also has been a regular guest on “Your Career Partners,” a Washington, DC-based radio talk show, and has been a guest speaker at the HR Summit and the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA).

Mr. Shuman is an active member of the Human Resources Policy Association, Human Resource 50, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors for Wuesthoff Health System, Enterprise Florida, and University of Florida Foundation. He received a Stevie® during the American Business Awards in 2007 for “Best Human Resources Executive.” He also serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Southern California Center for Effective Organizations in the Marshall Business School.

R. Kent Buchanan is chief technology officer for Harris Corporation and vice president of Engineering for Government Communications Systems Division. He is responsible for corporate technology planning, cross-division technology collaboration, technology licensing, and development of dual-use (government-commercial) technology, as well as an engineering and technology organization of more than 3,600 people that supports U.S. and international government programs.

Prior to this, Mr. Buchanan was vice president of Technology and Development and chief growth officer for Harris, with responsibilities for the expansion of technology initiatives, new business, and corporate development activities.

Before joining Harris in 2005, Mr. Buchanan was the senior director of Growth Platforms at Motorola. During 15 years with Motorola, he held a number of leadership positions including vice president and general manager-Global eBusiness, vice president and general manager-Radio Products Division, vice president and general manager-Accessories and Aftermarket Products Division, as well as assignments in international network services and strategic marketing.

Previously, Mr. Buchanan worked for General Electric Medical Systems Group where he held product management, marketing, and strategic planning assignments, and for General Instrument Corporation. He also served as a management consultant with Bain & Company.

Mr. Buchanan began his career as an officer in the United States Air Force, where he had assignments as chief of production on a communications satellite program at the Space and Missile Command, and in systems test engineering at the Electronic Systems Command. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S.E.E. degree and he received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Gene Cavallucci is vice president—general counsel of Harris Corporation.

Mr. Cavallucci joined Harris in 1990. He was previously vice president—counsel for the company's government-related businesses, Harris Government Communications Systems Division and Harris RF Communications Division, and he also served as director of Business Conduct for Harris.

Prior to joining Harris, he served as vice president-general counsel and secretary for DBA Systems, Inc., in Melbourne, Florida. Previously, he was a partner in a Melbourne law firm. Before entering private practice in 1980, he spent seven years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force. In his last assignment, he served as Chief of Contracts at the Eastern Space and Missile Center, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.

Mr. Cavallucci earned a bachelor's degree in labor management relations from Penn State University and a law degree from Penn State's Dickinson School of Law. He also earned a master's of law degree in government procurement law from George Washington University Law Center.

Mr. Cavallucci is admitted to practice in Florida and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American and Florida Bar Associations. He has served as Florida State co-chairperson of the Public Contract Law Section of the American Bar Association, and chair of the South Brevard County Bar Grievance Committee. He has been a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) since 1978 and was elected an NCMA Fellow in May 1992.

He is an adjunct professor at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, where he has taught graduate courses in government contract administration and contract negotiations. He is also on the Board of Overseers of Florida Tech's College of Business.

Mr. Cavallucci serves on the Legal Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association and the Law Council of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI. He formerly served as Chair of the Government Contracts Council of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI. While serving as the Harris Director of Business Conduct, he was a member of the Defense Industry Initiative (DII) Working Group.

He was elected to the Health First, Inc., Board of Directors in 2007 and also serves on the Holmes Regional Medical Center's Board of Directors.

Peter Challan is vice president of Government Relations for Harris Corporation. He is responsible for the company's relations with the U.S. Congress, the Executive Branch, and defense and aerospace industry representatives located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Prior to this, Challan was vice president of Washington Programs for Harris Government Communications Systems, with responsibility for program execution and the development of new business with civilian agencies of the U.S. government. Before joining Harris in 2005, he was senior vice president with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He served the FAA for 35 years in leadership positions on a variety of programs and initiatives, and received numerous awards including the FAA Distinguished Service Award.

Challan has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from City College of New York. He is a registered professional engineer and chairman elect of the Air Traffic Control Association.

Wesley B. (Wes) Covell is vice president of Strategy, and chief growth officer for Harris Corporation. In this position, Mr. Covell is responsible for the Emerging Business Opportunities (EBO) initiative, the EBO Enterprise Team, enterprise-wide growth, and the corporation’s strategic growth plan.

Prior to being named to his current position, Mr. Covell was president of the Government Communications Systems Division’s (GCSD) Defense Programs business unit and responsible for communications systems, networks, and products for military aerospace, terrestrial, and maritime applications.

Since joining Harris, Mr. Covell has held positions of increasing responsibility, including division vice president of engineering for GCSD, vice president in the corporate technology group, and vice president of engineering for the Defense Programs business unit.

Prior to joining Harris in 1990, Mr. Covell was a systems engineer with The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, working on communications systems for the U.S. Navy and Army.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and a master’s of science in electrical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He is also a graduate of the Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program.

Mr. Covell is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Florida Institute of Technology College of Engineering Board of Advisors, and North Carolina State University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. Terry L. Feiser is vice president of Internal Audit and Compliance for Harris Corporation, reporting to the audit committee of the Board of Directors. Mr. Feiser is responsible for all internal audit activities and the coordination of compliance programs.

Previously, he served as director of Internal Audit with responsibilities for financial, compliance, and information systems audit functions.

Mr. Feiser joined Harris in 1979 and has held increasingly responsible positions in contracts, government compliance, and internal audit. Previous positions include director, Ethics and Government Compliance, as well as senior manager, Government Compliance Audit at corporate headquarters; and senior manager of Contracts at Government Communications Systems. Prior to joining Harris, Mr. Feiser was a financial analyst at Fairchild Industries, Aircraft Service Division.

Mr. Feiser has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, and an M.B.A. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida.

Sheldon Fox is group president of Harris Corporation's Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD). GCSD develops and produces advanced communications and information systems for the Department of Defense and other government agencies and their prime contractors.

GCSD is comprised of four distinct businesses. The Defense Programs business provides communications systems, networks, and products for military aerospace, terrestrial, and maritime applications. The National Programs business supports primarily space and intelligence community programs for the U.S. government. The Mission Critical Networks business provides highly reliable network infrastructures for government agencies, including the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) program. The Environmental/Energy Solutions business develops and produces advanced communications and information systems that meet today's most critical environmental and energy challenges, including NOAA's next-generation GOES-R Ground Segment.

Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Fox was president of the National Programs business unit. Before that, he was president of the Defense Programs business unit. He previously held the positions of vice president and general manager of the DoD Programs business unit and vice president of Programs for the DoD Communication Systems business area.

Since joining Harris in 1984, Mr. Fox has played a key role in successfully achieving financial and business objectives and positioning Harris on many nationally important platforms and programs.

Mr. Fox holds bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Georgia Tech, and a master of business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of the Harris WINGS management development program, the Defense Systems Management College at Fort Belvoir, the Mahler Advanced Management Program, and the Harris Leadership Directions program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. In 2008, he was named a Georgia Tech Distinguished Engineering Alumnus.

Mr. Greene was previously vice president-Tax and Assistant Treasurer for Harris. He joined Harris in 1996 as director of Tax and Assistant Treasurer. Prior to this he served as staff vice president-International Tax with Unisys Corporation. Mr. Greene began his career with Bank of America in 1979.

He earned an M.B.A. (tax) and a law degree from Golden Gate University, and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Harris IT Services is a leading systems integrator and prime contractor, delivering excellence in IT transformation, managed solutions and information assurance to enable defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and commercial customers to meet their missions.

Most recently, Mr. Heller was vice president and general manager of IT Services’ Department of Defense (DoD) Programs.

Before joining Harris, he served as president and chief operating officer of Multimax, Inc., president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Netco Government Services, and president and CEO of Rentport, Inc.

Earlier, Mr. Heller was principal for TenX Capital Management, where he was involved in due diligence of TenX acquisition opportunities. He also has held senior management positions with Answerthink Consulting and Deloitte & Touche Consulting.

Mr. Heller is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Heller sits on the Business Alumni Association Board of Directors for the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh, and is a member of the Advisory Board for Williams Innovations, LLC.

Ted Hengst is corporate vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of Harris Corporation. He is responsible for setting the strategic direction, architecture, and governance of the company’s global IT enterprise to drive innovation, fuel growth, enable change, and create a competitive advantage through the use of information technology.

Most recently, Mr. Hengst served as president of Harris IT Services. In that position, he led all aspects of IT Services, an industry leader in providing mission-critical IT and communications services and support to defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and commercial customers. He worked closely with division leadership teams, key staff members, and customers to shape Harris IT Services’ growth strategies.

Before joining Harris, Mr. Hengst served as senior vice president, Army Solutions, for General Dynamics in Fairfax, Virginia. In that role, he was responsible for the daily operations and integration activities of a $1 billion newly created business division. Prior to that assignment, he was vice president and general manager for Army and Civil Solutions—a $600 million business where he led the capture of programs such as TEIS, ITES-2S, and DHS-EAGLE.

Prior to taking the position at General Dynamics, Mr. Hengst served in the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of colonel in 2002. His last assignment was as CIO and J6 at U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. As CIO, Mr. Hengst was responsible for planning, funding, and execution of all phases of information, computing, and communications resources for a 46,000-person command.

Mr. Hengst earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master of science degree in management information systems from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

Mr. Hengst sits on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC). He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) and he chairs the VFIC Career/Workforce Committee. He is an active member of the Loudoun County CEO Cabinet, the CEO Council for the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council (ACT/IAC), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). Mr. Hengst is also an Executive Committee member for the American Heart Association AHA Start! Heart Walk.

Stephen Marschilok is president of the DoD business unit at Harris Corporation's RF Communications Division (RFCD). RFCD is a leading supplier of secure voice and data communications products, systems, and networks to military, government, and commercial organizations worldwide.

Mr. Marschilok is responsible for all RFCD's DoD business, including DoD Sales, Communications Security Products (CSP), Business Development, Product Line and Program Management, Marketing Communications, and Technical Customer Service.

Mr. Marschilok has been an employee of Harris Corporation for 28 years. His previous roles included vice president and general manager of International Government Systems (IGS); engineering and program management; business development, sales, and operations; in-country program manager for the Netherlands HF-EZB HF Tactical Radio Program; director of U.S. Government Tactical Programs; and director of sales for Europe and Central Asia. Following Harris' award of the Bowman HF Subsystem, Mr. Marschilok was named managing director-UK Operations.

Mr. Marschilok transitioned back to Rochester, New York, in July of 2003 to begin his new assignment on JTRS, promoted to vice president of JTRS Operations. He then took on the expanded role of vice president-Government Operations, responsible for all U.S. domestic sales and programs. In May 2005, he was named vice president and general manager of International Government Systems.

In October 2008, he took on the role of vice president and general manager of the DoD business unit.

Mr. Marschilok holds a bachelor of science degree in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master of science degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Mr. Marschilok is the past Harris corporate representative of the UK Defence Manufacturers' Association. He is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dana A. Mehnert is group president of Harris Corporation's RF Communications Division. He is also responsible for International Government Systems and Contracts for Harris government business.

Mr. Mehnert joined RF Communications in 1984 as an electrical engineer in the division's rotational management training program. He held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, and in 1995 was promoted to vice president–International Sales. He was named vice president of Worldwide Marketing in 1996. In 1999, he was named vice president/managing director–International Government Sales Operations for Harris Corporation's Regional Sales organization based in Melbourne, Florida. Mr. Mehnert returned to RF as vice president–International Sales and Operations in 2002, and was named vice president–Defense Operations in 2003, vice president and general manager in 2004, and division president in 2006.

Mr. Mehnert graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1984 with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and applied physics and a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Rochester in 1991. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School General Manager Program.

Dale W. Meyerrose is vice president and general manager for Cyber Integrated Solutions for Harris Corporation. He is responsible for leading all aspects of strategy, business development, and program execution for Harris cyber growth initiatives across the corporation.

Mr. Meyerrose has more than three decades of military and government experience in cyber, communications, information technology, intelligence, command and control operations, and space support. Most recently, he was the first President-appointed, Senate-confirmed Chief Information Officer and Information Sharing Executive for the U.S. Intelligence Community in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. While on active duty, he served as Chief Information Officer in three major U.S. Air Force Commands and three unified Combatant Commands.

Mr. Meyerrose retired from the United States Air Force in 2005 with the rank of major general. He is a decorated Southwest Asia veteran whose last assignment was the Chief Information Officer for both North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Among Mr. Meyerrose’s professional awards are the International AFCEAN of the Year, the Executive CIO Top 10 Leaders and Innovators Public Service Award for excellence in public leadership, and Computer World Fed 100. He was also recognized by the Government Computer News for Outstanding Information Technology Achievement in Government.

Mr. Meyerrose graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a bachelor of science degree in economics and earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah. He graduated from the National War College and attended senior executive programs at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, the University of California at Berkley Haas School of Business, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, the National Defense University in Washington, DC, and the Air University in Montgomery, Alabama.

Mr. Meyerrose is an adjunct professor at the School of Information Studies, Syracuse University. He is also president and chairman of the board for the Air Force Historical Foundation.

Scott T. Mikuen is vice president—associate general counsel and secretary of Harris Corporation. He is responsible for corporate legal issues, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, finance, corporate and transaction matters and a variety of other legal and contractual matters. Mr. Mikuen is also a Trustee of the Harris Foundation.

Mr. Mikuen joined Harris in 1996 and has served Harris in various positions within the Legal Department, including as vice president—counsel with responsibility for Harris' corporate and commercial division legal affairs and as finance counsel.

Prior to joining Harris, he served as a partner in a Long Island, New York, law firm.

Mr. Mikuen earned a bachelor's degree with high honors in political science from Colgate University and a law degree with honors from the Harvard Law School.

He is admitted to practice in New York and Florida. Mr. Mikuen is a member of the New York and Florida Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. Mr. Mikuen is also a member of the Melbourne Airport Authority board and a director of Club Esteem. He is actively involved in youth sports programs and plays competitive sports (recently having represented a Florida team in USA Hockey "Over 40" Nationals).

Harris Morris, Jr. is president of Harris Corporation's Broadcast Communications Division (BCD). BCD offers products, systems, and services that provide interoperable workflow solutions for broadcast, cable, satellite, and out-of-home networks.

In this role, Mr. Morris oversees 1,960 employees working globally across the division's Media and Workflow, Infrastructure and Networking, and Transmission (radio and television) business units. Mr. Morris is focused on continuing BCD's growth as a technology leader, particularly in new high-growth, media-driven markets. He also is overseeing BCD's ongoing international expansion efforts.

He joined Harris in January 2008, as vice president and general manager of the Media and Workflow area of the Broadcast Communications business.

Prior to this position, Mr. Morris served as chief strategy officer for the Thomson Learning Division of Thomson Corporation, where he played an instrumental role in the development and execution of Thomson's growth strategy for international channel expansion and digital products.

Previously, he was a partner and vice president for Bain & Company, a global business consulting firm. In his 13 years with Bain & Company, he helped a wide variety of global clients analyze markets, develop growth strategies, expand into international markets, and drive operational efficiencies.

Mr. Morris has a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree with distinction in economics and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia. Mr. Morris is a frequent contributor as an interviewee and author to periodicals and online publications, including Catalyst magazine, sportsvideo.org, and the Financial Times.

Prior to assuming this position in 2005, Mr. Navarro had been senior vice president–Business Development and Integration for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Before joining Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Mr. Navarro was senior vice president of Corporate Development for Solectron Corporation, a leading provider of contract electronics manufacturing services. Previously he served for 10 years as vice president—Corporate Development for Honeywell International where he structured a multibillion dollar series of global transactions in a broad spectrum of industries, including aerospace, electronics, distributed power, industrial and marine, and information technology. Prior to joining Honeywell, he served in mergers and acquisitions, and financial positions with Citicorp, Bank of America, and Citibank. He began his career as a structural engineer with Rockwell International.

Steve Shanck is president of Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications (PSPC) business unit. PSPC is a leading supplier of systems and equipment for public safety, federal, utility, commercial, and transportation markets—with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice and data networks, to industry leading multiband, multimode radios, to public safety-grade broadband video and data solutions. Mr. Shanck reports to the group president of RF Communications Division.

In this role, Mr. Shanck is responsible for establishing the strategic direction, ensuring the effective execution, and leading the PSPC team to achieve ambitious growth objectives established for this business.

Mr. Shanck was most recently executive vice president, Secure Networks North America, for EADS Inc., where he developed strategic initiatives for the public safety market, including mission-critical wireless mobility solutions. His leadership resulted in the reprioritization of business strategy and the staffing of key management positions to support their go-to-market strategy.

Prior to EADS, he was vice president and general manager of Worldwide Business Development in the Global Information Services division of General Dynamics Information Technology, leading their efforts in international enterprise and government markets as well as U.S. state and local government segments.

Mr. Shanck spent the first 20 years of his career in North America with Motorola, Inc., in sales and marketing positions, and then as vice president of Sales and Marketing–Western Division, Commercial, Government, and Industrial Solutions Sector. He then spent 6 years serving as vice president and general manager, first for the land mobile radio division in Japan, and then for the cellular infrastructure division for South Asia, based in Singapore. Additionally, he led Asia Pacific Business Development, based in Beijing.

Andy Start is president of the International business unit at Harris RF Communications Division (RFCD). RFCD is the leading global supplier of secure radio communications and embedded high-grade encryption solutions for military, government, public safety, and commercial organizations.

Mr. Start is responsible for all of RFCD's International business, including International Sales, Business Development, Product Line, and Program Management.

He joined RFCD in 2010 from BAE Systems, where he was managing director and vice president of the $1.4 billion Platform Solutions business.

Mr. Start began his career as an electrical engineer working on the Ptarmigan tactical trunk communications system at Siemens Plessey Systems, where he later became the system design authority for the UK military's satellite ground network.

He later joined EADS Astrium, where he led the company's military SATCOM business. Mr. Start was instrumental in the formation of its highly successful service business, Paradigm Secure Communications.

He fulfilled a number of senior roles within BAE Systems, including UK corporate strategy director and chief executive officer of IFS Defence Ltd.—a BAE joint venture company that markets enterprise software solutions to the aerospace and defense industries.

Mr. Start has completed two secondments into government, including UK MOD and Department for Trade and Industry.

Mr. Start graduated from Portsmouth University, England, in 1988, with a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical and electronic engineering. He received a postgraduate certificate in management from Bournemouth University, England, in 1994.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a chartered member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Mr. Start has served as Chairman of the Medway Innovation Centre, serves as a member of the UK Electronics Leadership Council, and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Mid-Kent College.

As a two-time liver transplant survivor, Mr. Traficant is passionate about transforming healthcare and he frequently addresses healthcare transformation in public forums and major news networks. Healthcare Solutions is delivering the full value of Harris to the healthcare industry, providing enterprise imaging, information and communications technology, infrastructure, and informatics to government and commercial healthcare organizations. Harris is the prime contractor for CONNECT, an open source gateway to the Nationwide Health Information Network.

Mr. Traficant has over 20 years of business development and operational leadership experience in both government and commercial markets. He previously served as vice president of Programs and Business Development for Harris IT Services, and division vice president of Business Development for Harris Government Communications Systems Division.

Prior to Harris, Mr. Traficant served as the executive vice president of Exigent International, where he led business development and engineering services. He also served on the corporate board of directors for 7 years.

Mr. Traficant holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Geneva College and a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University.

A member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), he also serves as a director for United Network for Organ Sharing.
